ACANA Premium Ingredients for Pets

Farm-raised meats and Yorkshire pork

The beef, bison and lamb used in our food are raised on farms and given proper nutrition.
ACANA's premium meats are packed with protein to help provide the essential nutrients your pet needs.
ACANA's Yorkshire pigs are raised in properly ventilated barns with feed, water and adequate living space and nutrition.

Free-range chickens and turkeys

The free-range chickens and turkeys used in our food are never confined to cages but are allowed to roam freely in coops with no access to the outside.
They are safe from predation, have constant access to clean, fresh water and food, and have places to climb up and hide underneath for added security.
The premium quality poultry used in ACANA pet foods provides plenty of the animal protein your beloved dog or cat needs.

Wild caught or farmed fish grown in an environmentally friendly way

ACANA partners with seafood suppliers around the world to source the highest quality, nutritious fish.
This includes both wild caught fish and farmed fish raised in an environmentally friendly way.

ACANA is committed to sourcing fish that provides a balanced source of essential protein, healthy fats and nutrients for your pets.

Free-range eggs

At ACANA we use eggs from cage-free chickens.
The hens are free to roam the coop, rest on perches, and lay eggs in nests.
High-quality eggs are an excellent source of protein for your dog as they contain the essential amino acids he needs.

Whole fruits and vegetables

Our high-quality fruits and vegetables come from our carefully selected partners who grow the finest produce.
Many have a low glycemic index (GI) and are a natural source of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber and nutrients.

Herbs

We work closely with producers to ensure a stable supply of the highest quality herbs.

Healthy grains

--------------------------------

Q: How do I store Acana food?

A: Once opened, ACANA pet food can be safely stored in its packaging by rolling up the top of the bag after each use.
If you live in a humid area, consider storing the bags in airtight containers.
When replacing food bags, be sure to wash the storage box to prevent food from accumulating and remember to record the lot number.
Lot number and expiration date information can be found on the top back of the packaging.

ACANA foods do not need to be stored in the refrigerator.
Store it at room temperature in a cool, dry place in your home, not in a garage where temperatures can fluctuate wildly.

--------------------------------

Q: About the expiration date

A: The quality of ACANA products is guaranteed up to the expiration date printed on the packaging.
The Best Before (BB) date is printed on the top back of each ACANA package along with the lot number and manufacturing information. The Best Before date is in day-month-year order.

--------------------------------

Q: How do I transition my pet to Acana food?

A: Dogs and cats are often fed the same food for long periods of time, so if their food is suddenly changed it is difficult for their digestive systems to adapt.
It is important to introduce the change in food gradually.
A slow transition will allow your pet to get used to the new food and reduce the chance of digestive upset.
Start by mixing 25% new food and 75% old food, then gradually increase the ratio over the next 5 to 7 days until it is 100% new food.

--------------------------------

Q: What is food rotation? Can it be achieved with Acana pet foods?

A: After switching to ACANA, many pet lovers adopt a feeding method called "food rotation."
Alternating between different ACANA products helps keep your dog or cat from getting bored of eating the same thing every day and ensures they get a variety of proteins and fats.
First of all, we recommend rotating bags.
Once you finish one bag, use the next one for a different recipe.
When introducing a new food for rotation, mix it 50/50 to help your pet transition successfully to the new food.

However, for dogs or cats with food sensitivities, a complete transition should be made when introducing new ACANA foods.
After that, you are free to change it as you like.

--------------------------------

Q: Which product should I choose?

A: There are lots of options.
Feel free to mix and match however you like, so experiment to see what works best for your pet.

100% dry molded type: ACANA dry kibble is a balanced, nutritional food that can be fed as is.

--------------------------------

Q: What is Whole Play?

A: Dogs and cats in their natural state have their biological nutritional needs met by eating whole animals.
ACANA Whole Prey is formulated with meat, organs and bones to mirror the diet of the wild, with minimal synthetic ingredients.

In Japan, ACANA pet food is distributed not only as genuine products but also as parallel imports. All products sold in our store are "genuine" and are imported in temperature-controlled containers . We take every precaution to ensure quality, so you can feed it to your pet with peace of mind.

Officially imported products : These are imported into Japan via the Japanese branches of overseas manufacturers or official distributors with import and sales contracts.

Parallel imports : Products imported through unauthorized channels. They are cheap but often have quality issues.

<Import and export management> The import and export of "official imports" is managed by overseas manufacturers and official distributors in Japan. On the other hand, "parallel imports" often have complicated distribution routes, and even if a problem occurs, it is often difficult to determine where the problem lies.

<Shipping method> "Official imported" products of ORIJEN, ACANA, and Ziwi are imported in temperature-controlled containers . On the other hand, "parallel products" are often transported in regular containers, and it is not uncommon for quality to be difficult to maintain when they pass through high temperature and humidity areas.

Parallel imports are often cheaper than genuine products. However, if any problems arise with parallel imports, neither the official distributor (official retailer) nor the manufacturer will respond. You also need to consider the possibility of problems such as differences in quality control, deterioration of quality, and differences in standards, so instead of choosing based on price alone, we recommend that you consider the risks of choosing parallel products.

Please rest assured that all of the overseas foods we sell are genuine . Please try the genuine products we sell.
